Funding of individual projects/annual activities of institutions in the field of performing arts

The City of Vienna Culture continuously supports individual projects as well as annual activities in the field of performing arts to enrich Vienna’s cultural life in a diverse manner. Projects in all disciplines such as drama, performance, dance and movement theater, musical theater, and puppet theater are funded. Special emphasis is placed on transdisciplinary theater projects as well as productions for children and youth. The grant enables institutions and artistic initiatives to realize innovative productions and festival formats, thereby sustainably strengthening the city’s artistic spectrum.

Eligible to apply are legal entities, registered partnerships, sole proprietorships based in Vienna, as well as natural persons aged 18 and over with primary residence in Vienna. Natural persons may apply for individual funding up to a maximum of 30,000 euros. Applications are accepted continuously and require only the completed application form in accordance with the guidelines of the Municipal Department 7. A well-founded project outline and a financing plan must be indicated in the form. The funding amounts depend on the scope of the project and the demonstrated financial need. The flexible submission deadline ensures that new initiatives can receive uncomplicated support for their artistic activities at any time.
