Funding of individual projects and annual activities in the field of cultural initiatives

The City of Vienna Culture supports cross-disciplinary cultural initiatives with an open submission possibility for individual projects and annual activities in Vienna. Funded are projects, project series, and spaces that place professional art and cultural creation at the center, act beyond district boundaries, and implement intercultural and inclusive access models. The offer is aimed at natural persons of legal age with main residence in Vienna as well as legal entities, registered partnerships, and sole proprietorships based in Vienna that are professionally active in the cultural sector. Funding is provided as a direct grant and places special emphasis on high artistic quality, convincing conceptual presentations, as well as the contribution to the common good and social cohesion.

Applications can be submitted online at any time, whereby the project must have a direct reference to Vienna. Prerequisites are proper management, economic viability, and a clearly structured project concept. The evaluation includes artistic excellence, intercultural orientation, inclusive access, and public interest. For submission, an application form (via ID Austria or declaration of consent), a planned-actual financial statement (Excel), and an income-expenditure statement (EAR) are required. Transparent accounting is mandatory, with specific templates used depending on the funding amount. The open-ended deadline allows flexible planning and implementation of innovative art and cultural projects that are open to all Viennese residents and sustainably enrich the city's cultural life.
