Description
Since 2019, the state of Carinthia has been providing state funds to specifically support non-profit providers of parent education. The goal is to promote parents and families in various life stages – from pregnancy and birth through children aged 0–3, 3–6, 6–10 up to puberty – through informative event series, workshops, and projects. The focus is on information, self-reflection, and exchange of experiences to comprehensively address parenting styles, communication, conflict resolution, health, and other relevant topics. Funding is provided in the form of a grant and can be applied for continuously; applications must be submitted by April 30 of the respective year.
Eligible for funding are exclusively non-profit institutions that design their offerings with qualified speakers. The planned measures must be organized as event series (days, evenings, weekends, or block events), workshops, or projects and cover at least one defined life stage. Content should include key thematic areas such as child development, legal and economic issues, as well as service offerings; an extension to media education or family structural aspects is possible. For the application, a subsidy application and a detailed financing plan must be submitted. Through close coordination with Department 13 – Society and Integration of the Office of the Carinthian State Government, sustainable and effective parent education work is ensured.
