Funding of festivals and similar seasonal events

Partial funding of festivals and similar seasonal events in Vienna supports theatre operations, independent theatre artists, festival organizers, as well as musicians, orchestras, and ensembles in the implementation of projects in the fields of music and performing arts. As a continuous funding opportunity in the form of a grant, the program contributes to sustainably anchoring cultural highlights in Austria. A permanent residence in Austria, the submission of an application to the responsible Federal Ministry, and a personal contribution corresponding to economic capacity are prerequisites. Applications can be submitted continuously, with the validity date being unlimited since 01.01.2013. The funding focus is on enabling projects that could not be realized, or not fully realized, without state support.

Interested private individuals, companies, non-profit organizations, and public institutions submit the general application form to the Federal Ministry for Housing, Arts, Culture, Media, and Sports. There is no individual deadline; dates and detailed information on submission deadlines are available on the Ministry of Arts service page. After a positive funding commitment, reporting and accounting are carried out in accordance with the guidelines of funding control. Through collaboration with expert advisory boards and juries, the program ensures transparent allocation of funds and strengthens the vibrant cultural life in Vienna and throughout Austria.
