Description
In the state of Salzburg, a permanent grant funding is available, open to private individuals, companies, non-profit organizations, and public institutions. The primary target groups are owners and managers of forest areas, forestry enterprises, as well as municipal authorities. The objective is the restoration, transformation, and long-term preservation of resilient forest ecosystems. Funding is provided for reforestation measures following disasters, site-appropriate natural regeneration, as well as technical accompanying and protective forest measures. Furthermore, investments in forestry infrastructure development, forest protection measures including monitoring of secondary pests, and activities for forestry education and public relations can be applied for. Applications must be submitted to the State Forestry Directorate before the commencement of the planned activities; the funding period began on 01.01.2024 and is unlimited.
The funding is provided within the framework of De-minimis aid and covers investment, material, and personnel costs as well as in-kind contributions based on the ÖKL remuneration. A prerequisite for approval is the economic infeasibility without funding, secured overall financing, and proof of professional, organizational, and economical implementation. At the time of application, the completed application form from the State Forestry Directorate, a precise project description, a detailed financing plan with cost overview and schedule, as well as a signed declaration of commitment must be submitted. The final evaluation is based on the criteria of cost-effectiveness, appropriateness, plausibility of costs, and fulfillment of all professional requirements.
