Description

The funding program of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia supports private individuals residing in NRW as well as NRW-based companies in the drilling and extraction technology sector in participating in advanced training courses at state-recognized technical colleges. Both shift supervisor courses and technical further training to become a technician in drilling and extraction technology are funded. The grant amount is up to €5,000 per shift supervisor measure and up to €10,000 for the technician training. Applications can be submitted until June 30, 2027, within the framework of available budget funds. A prerequisite is proof of residence or company headquarters and professional activity in NRW; only the course participation fees are eligible for funding. Each company is funded annually for one advanced training course in shift supervision and one in technician training.

The application process is conducted via an electronic form, using a PIN code procedure for uploading the required documents – including invoice, participation certificate, proof of employment, and PIN code confirmation. After positive review, a grant award notice is issued, authorizing the commissioning of the measure. The proof of use is also submitted digitally and reviewed based on the original documents. Participants benefit from tailored curricula that impart knowledge on drilling fluids, drilling tools for pilot boreholes, and occupational safety. The program’s goal is to strengthen the skilled workforce base in the field of drilling and extraction technology, thereby contributing to regional value creation and the sustainable safeguarding of technical competencies in NRW.
