Funding objective
The aim of the funding is to make training in health and nursing professions more attractive in order to recruit more people for health and nursing professions, to secure care and health services in Burgenland, and to actively counteract a shortage of personnel.

Funding requirements
- At least one person employed under the Burgenland employment model for nursing training purposes
- Conclusion of an employment relationship for nursing training purposes with the person to be employed
- Training of the person to be employed at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland or the School for General Health and Nursing of Gesundheit Burgenland
- Employment of the employed person after successful completion of the training in an institution according to § 3 para. 2 in Burgenland
- Operation of the institution on a non-profit basis within the meaning of §§ 34 ff BAO and use of any surplus income to improve services for people in need of care or with disabilities

Description
The funding measure provided by the State of Burgenland is aimed at non-profit health and care service providers who employ trainees in nursing within the framework of the Burgenland Employment Model. Its objective is to enhance nursing and health professions by enabling early employment contracts, creating fully social-insured training positions, and thereby actively counteracting the regional shortage of skilled workers. At the same time, the initiative contributes to sustainably securing comprehensive care for elderly or dependent persons in Burgenland and establishing the nursing profession as an attractive future career prospect.
The subsidy amounts to € 779.88 per trainee per month and is paid 14 times annually. It applies from the start of the employment relationship until no later than 31.12.2026. Funding requirements include, among others, the conclusion of an employment contract for nursing training purposes, completion of the training at the University of Applied Sciences Burgenland or the School for General Health and Nursing of Gesundheit Burgenland, as well as the subsequent continued employment of graduates in an institution in Burgenland. Applications must be submitted online via the designated form and must document the number of employed trainees as well as the concluded employment contract. Funding recipients are obliged to submit annual lists of the funded individuals to Department 6 – Social Affairs and Care of the Office of the Burgenland Provincial Government.
