Description
The funding program of the Ministry of Agriculture and Consumer Protection of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia supports companies, interest groups, associations, as well as non-profit organizations in increasing the sales of organically and regionally produced agricultural and food products. The goal is to improve the market opportunities for high-quality products from North Rhine-Westphalia through financial grants for trade fair and exhibition participation, consumer information publications, training and further education events, as well as advertising measures and quality management programs. Applicants benefit from increased visibility of their products and a sustainable development of regional economic cycles, which contributes to strengthening rural areas. The funding is based on EU regulations on market organization and is granted as a non-repayable subsidy. The amount of the contribution depends on the type and scope of the planned measure, with a minimum funding amount of EUR 2,000.
A prerequisite for a successful application is a business location or branch in North Rhine-Westphalia as well as the implementation of the project within the state (with the exception of trade fairs, exhibitions, and external advertising measures). Eligible for funding are also companies according to the EU SME definition and producer groups that pursue public interest and demonstrably improve the sales opportunities of their products. Joint booths at trade fairs must consist of at least three companies, while publications and advertising are not permitted to mention individual brands or companies. The written application must be submitted no later than one month before the start of the measures; the final submission deadline is annually October 15. The responsible authority for application processing is the State Office for Consumer Protection and Food NRW in Düsseldorf. The detailed funding guidelines regulate all further details.
