Description
In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the state promotes small local initiatives in the fields of health, sports/movement, and civic engagement with funds from the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+). Grants amounting to 5,000 euros for a project duration of six months or 8,200 euros for a twelve-month implementation support educational institutions, public bodies, interest groups, and other associations. The aim is the sustainable strengthening of social and societal participation of disadvantaged groups – especially people threatened by poverty, social exclusion, or long-term unemployment – as well as the promotion of social cohesion in problem areas and the accompaniment of democratic developments on site. Required are open, participant- and target group-spanning concepts that support self-responsible action and improve the employability of those involved.
Eligible for funding are legal entities under private and public law that, in addition to professional and organizational suitability, obtain a positive vote from the responsible regional advisory board and a municipal statement. A prerequisite for approval is at least 10 participants from the target group as well as a minimum scope of 50 project hours (for six months) or 100 project hours (for twelve months). To be submitted, among other things, are a well-founded project description, the application documents of the regional advisory board, and the municipal statement – usually five weeks before each regional advisory board meeting. Eligible expenses include personnel costs and material costs. With continuous application opportunities until December 31, 2029, this funding offers long-term prospects for committed project sponsors who wish to effectively strengthen social cohesion locally.
