Promotion of small-scale, neighborhood-oriented housing and supply models (from 2025)

From 2025 onwards, the City of Hamburg will support small-scale, neighborhood-oriented housing and care models for people in need of care and assistance within their familiar environment. Eligible for funding are companies, interest groups, and other associations with headquarters or branches in Hamburg that develop services enabling elderly individuals, people with chronic illnesses, or disabilities to remain permanently in their own homes and familiar neighborhoods. The one-time grant strengthens projects that implement housing and care models tailored to the lifestyle habits of the target group, thereby promoting self-determination and social participation.

Applications can be submitted continuously; funding can commence no earlier than January 1, 2025. The documents to be submitted must demonstrate the neighborhood-oriented focus of the service as well as the project structure anchored in Hamburg. The Authority for Health, Social Affairs and Integration continuously reviews the applications and decides on the awarding of grants. The goal is to establish neighborhood-based care models comprehensively across Hamburg’s districts, thereby securing the long-term quality of life for people in need of care and assistance within their familiar living environment.
