Description
The funding program of the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg supports non-profit cultural initiatives and socio-cultural centers under private, independent, and free sponsorship in continuing and expanding their cultural work. Funding is provided for ongoing program activities within the framework of institutional support as well as for thematic projects, equipment, and construction measures to enable the realization of exciting event formats and forward-looking infrastructure projects. Applicants who have been active in Baden-Württemberg for at least three years and regularly offer a cross-disciplinary, publicly accessible program including their own events can apply annually for grants of up to €350,000. The funding rate is 33% of eligible expenses; for construction measures, municipal participation of the same or double the amount of the requested state funds is also required.
A prerequisite for approval is basic financial support from the respective municipality or district as well as proof that the intended project could not be realized or could not be realized to the necessary extent without the state grant. The project duration is limited to 12 months, and applications can be submitted by January 31 of each funding year. Official application forms and a final report on the use of funds must be submitted as evidence. This funding provides cultural initiatives and socio-cultural centers with a reliable foundation to strengthen their programs and premises in the long term and to sustainably revitalize the cultural offerings in Baden-Württemberg.
