Description
In Burgenland, the state promotes the expansion and renovation of municipal wastewater disposal facilities, the creation of digital pipeline information systems, and participation in drinking water and wastewater benchmarking. Applications have been accepted continuously since October 30, 2013. The measure aims to protect surface and groundwater from contamination, increase cost and energy efficiency, and adapt urban water management to the challenges of demographics and climate change. The focus is on the areas of infrastructure, environmental and nature conservation, urban development, as well as energy efficiency and climate protection. Funding is provided to municipalities, municipal associations, associations established under the Water Rights Act, and registered cooperatives that wish to implement new construction, expansion, or reinvestment projects in the municipal wastewater sector.
The non-repayable grant covers a flat rate of 10% of the eligible investment costs. Recognized expenses include the construction and renovation of wastewater disposal facilities, planning and construction supervision services, preliminary services (e.g., variant studies, reports), operational buildings, connection lines, inter-municipal cooperation measures, restoration work after natural disasters, as well as information and reminder boards. Excluded are interior installations, land acquisition, maintenance, operating costs, in-kind contributions, administrative buildings, financing expenses, measures in red hazard zones, and accompanying public relations work. Applicants must comply with the guidelines of the State of Burgenland for municipal urban water management 2017 and submit documents such as the application form, project description, proof of water law approval, financing plan, as well as invoices and payment receipts. This program offers municipal authorities and cooperatives an attractive opportunity to sustainably strengthen infrastructure and advance digital processes.
