Description

The Promotion of Nature Conservation and Landscape Management Measures in Thuringia (NALAP) targets projects aimed at securing, developing, and maintaining nature and landscape in the Free State of Thuringia. The focus areas include land management, the protection of migrating amphibians along traffic routes, as well as investment nature conservation measures in agricultural and forest areas. Non-productive interventions are funded through resources from the joint task “Improvement of Agricultural Structures and Coastal Protection” (GAK) in the form of a grant. Up to 500,000 euros can be applied for per project. Applications for maintenance measures must be submitted to the responsible lower nature conservation authority by April 1, and for amphibian migration protections by February 15 of each year. NALAP significantly contributes to the preservation of valuable habitats and wild species and strengthens ecological network structures in Thuringia.

Eligible applicants include natural and legal persons under public and private law, including municipal authorities, non-profit organizations, agricultural enterprises, as well as other land managers with usage rights for the funded areas. Professional advice is provided by the lower nature conservation authorities of the districts and independent cities. Beneficiaries benefit from clear funding guidelines in the fields of environmental/nature conservation as well as energy efficiency & climate protection, fixed deadlines, and transparent application processing by the Thuringian Ministry for Environment, Energy, Nature Conservation and Forestry. The goal is the sustainable development of ecological structures, the restoration of specific habitats, and the long-term strengthening of biodiversity in Thuringia.
