Description
Youth Housing Funding Program supports the creation and modernization of housing for students and trainees in Saxony-Anhalt. Funding is provided for new construction, conversion, expansion, and modernization of dormitory spaces including common areas, with a grant of up to 60% of eligible expenses (maximum €120,000 per place). Eligible applicants include private individuals, companies, and public institutions as owners or leasehold holders of suitable plots of land or with proven land acquisition. The funding is awarded within the framework of ongoing calls by the Investment Bank of Saxony-Anhalt and covers, in addition to construction measures, the initial acquisition of dormitory places up to two years after completion.
For the application, specialized companies for the execution of the measures and compliance with building regulations are required. Individual dormitory places must not exceed a size of 30 m²; in shared living units, 25 m² per place applies. Furthermore, proof of economic viability and reliability as well as a commitment to maintain the funded places for at least 25 years from readiness for occupancy are conditions. The goal is the long-term provision of affordable housing options for students and trainees.
