Description
In Styria, a grant program supports measures of near-natural landscape water management aimed at improving soil water balance, stabilizing landslides, erosion protection, as well as the repair and clearance of agricultural drainage systems. The goal is to strengthen water retention, enhance eco-morphological watercourse structures, and sustainably secure agricultural land. Measures such as deep drainage, support ribs, technical slope stabilizations, subsurface investigations, project planning, and erosion protection measures are financially supported. The funding rate ranges between 40% and 70% of eligible investment costs, depending on the measure.
Water cooperatives, land consolidation and land reallocation associations, as well as individual agricultural enterprises throughout Styria are eligible for funding. Prerequisites include compliance with the Funding Guideline for Landslide Stabilization (Section 4 without point a), legal requirements (water law, building law, procurement law, ÖNorm standards), and the submission of a formal application with proof of own funds. Permanent maintenance and assumption of the preservation obligation upon transfer must be ensured. Damages covered by insurance are not eligible for funding. Applicants must submit a project description, plan representation, cost estimate, official approvals, funding application, forms A14 and A10, survey sheet, site plan, and detailed cost breakdown. Ongoing submission opportunities without deadlines ensure flexible project starts.
