Description

The City of Vienna – Education and Youth (MA 13) provides nonprofit organizations based in Vienna with an ongoing funding opportunity in the LGBTIQ sector. The aim of this funding is to reduce prejudice and discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity, as well as to raise awareness and consciousness within Viennese society. In addition to overall funding without a fixed upper limit, there is a “Queer Small Projects Fund” for individual grants up to €5,000. Funded measures cover the thematic areas of social affairs, social cohesion, education, counseling, work & social issues, as well as training and further education. Eligible for funding are nonprofit associations, foundations, and companies whose projects cannot be implemented without public funds and have a clear connection to Vienna. Prerequisites for an application include a realistic cost calculation with own contribution, agreement to the funding guidelines and data protection regulations via ID Austria, a clear demonstration of public interest, and compliance with ethical principles such as non-violence and anti-discrimination.

Eligible expenses include personnel costs, material costs, fees, and service contracts. Hospitality and travel expenses, acquisition of fixed assets, vouchers, or representation costs are not covered. Evaluation is based on innovation, quality, sustainability, as well as the public interest and Vienna relevance of the project. Required application documents are the online application form, the consent declaration (ID Austria), a copy of the photo ID of the authorized representative, association statutes or articles of association, and a current extract from the association register/company register. Submissions can be made at any time on an ongoing basis; following positive approval, a contract is signed and the funds disbursed. Accounting must be completed fully and on time by means of a usage report to ensure the sustainability and appropriateness of the funded projects.
