Description
As part of the open-ended funding initiative to strengthen groundwater protection in Styria, the Office of the Styrian Provincial Government, Department 14 Water Management, Resources and Sustainability, provides financial grants of up to €5,000. Funding is available for both expert consulting services on groundwater-friendly management of agriculturally used land and technical projects: decommissioning or rehabilitation of artesian wells and measures to secure the qualitative status of particularly high-quality groundwater reserves. Eligible applicants include private individuals, companies, and public institutions whose project focus is located in the Graz and Leibnitz basins or in the lower Mur valley and who actively wish to contribute to the protection of drinking water resources.
A prerequisite for grant approval is the location in Styria as well as the submission of execution proofs and invoices no later than six months after completion of the measure. Retroactive investments are not eligible for funding. The evaluation criteria include the water management impact, the priority of groundwater protection, the cost-effectiveness of the project, and the quality of the application documents. This continuously open program offers a straightforward opportunity to renew private well systems, implement agricultural conversion measures, or realize municipal protection concepts, thereby making an essential contribution to the sustainable preservation of regional drinking water resources.
