Description

As part of a statewide initiative in Salzburg, direct grants are provided for measures aimed at preserving soil health and improving soil quality. Funding is available for mechanical and biological methods of grub control, professional soil protection consulting by the Chamber of Agriculture, as well as training and educational measures to raise soil awareness. Eligible applicants include businesses, public institutions, and educational establishments – particularly agricultural enterprises, consultants, and teaching staff. Continuous application submission has been possible since September 9, 2013, allowing for flexible implementation of soil-conserving projects while simultaneously contributing to environmental and climate protection as well as rural development.

With regard to the objective of the Salzburg Soil Protection Act 2001, the funding program aims to preserve, improve, and restore soil functions as well as to prevent erosion and compaction. A prerequisite is exceeding the standards of good professional practice on agricultural and all non-sealed areas throughout the entire state territory. Application documents must include a project proposal, a detailed project description, and the general funding application of the State of Salzburg. Upon approval, grant payments are made based on submitted original invoices and proof of payment to ensure transparent and targeted support of soil-conscious measures.
