Description
The Free State of Bavaria grants funding to municipalities, districts, and voluntary aid organizations for the targeted improvement of equipment in disaster protection. The goal is to increase the defense and coping capacities for regional and supra-regional operational situations. The focus is on the acquisition and modernization of infrastructure components of supra-regional significance. Applicant organizations receive subsidies to sustainably strengthen their performance within the framework of the special investment program "Disaster Protection Bavaria 2030." With this measure, the Bavarian State Ministry of the Interior, for Sport and Integration responds to growing demands due to natural disasters, complex damage situations, and the safeguarding of critical infrastructures.
Investments supported include command vehicles (ELW), roll-off containers, rapid deployment and multipurpose tents including tent heaters, multipurpose boats, mobile loudspeaker and siren systems, sandbag filling systems, as well as equipment for oil spill response. The amount of funding ranges between 50% and 70% of eligible expenses, depending on the measure. A prerequisite is the professional proof of necessity and cost-effectiveness as well as compliance with technical regulations and recognized rules of technology. Applications must be submitted in writing or electronically by March 31 of each year to the responsible district government in order to be included in the annual allocation procedure in time before the start of measures.
