Description
The microproject funding fund of the Musical Competence Center Saxony-Anhalt provides grants of up to €1,000 to non-profit associations, initiatives, and institutions in Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. The aim of the state project at the Cultural Office Magdeburg is to strengthen cultural education offerings in the fields of music, training and further education, as well as media. Applicants must be based in the aforementioned federal states and primarily pursue the approach of music-cultural education. The program provides a funding rate of up to 90%; a minimum own contribution of 10% is recommended. Applications must be submitted continuously, provided they are received at least four weeks before the project start date. Eligible costs include fees and material costs, while expenses for catering, purely recreational events, material acquisitions, and personnel costs are excluded.
Flexible formats such as workshops, seminars, participatory concerts, and media projects that convey an interactive approach to music are funded. Applications benefit from well-developed concepts for cooperation with other associations, institutions, and educational networks, as well as clear plans for public relations and raising awareness among various target groups. Essential evaluation criteria include, in addition to the measurability of goal achievement—such as participant numbers or number of events—the sustainability of planned activities and the dissemination of project results. After a positive decision, a cooperation agreement is concluded before fees and material costs are settled directly through the Competence Center. The final proof of use requires a brief factual report including photo documentation, participant lists, and supporting documents within six weeks after the project ends. All relevant documents are available as fillable PDFs and can be submitted digitally.
