Description
The state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania supports innovative prevention projects that contribute directly or indirectly to crime prevention through a grant program. Eligible for funding are districts, independent cities, towns and municipalities, as well as independent organizations, institutions, and individuals based or operating within Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Financing is provided for up to 80% of eligible expenses, but at least 1,000 EUR. Within this framework, the Municipal Prevention Councils at the district and independent city levels are also supported. Applications for Municipal Prevention Councils must be submitted annually by September 30, and for independent organizations, institutions, and individuals by October 31 of the respective fiscal year.
Various requirements must be met for a successful application: The applicant must not receive grants for the same purpose from other state agencies or public law entities. For projects in the area of child and youth work or on the topic "Sport instead of Violence," proof of qualification of the supervisors (e.g., license or teaching certification) must be provided. Municipal Prevention Councils must also be organized as a permanent body with at least two meetings per year, a designated contact person, a separate account, and exclusively use funds for crime prevention purposes. The application form, a detailed project description, a comprehensive financing plan, and the statement of the responsible Prevention Council must be enclosed; if applicable, an extract from the register of associations, statutes, proof of non-profit status, and subject-specific qualification certificates are required.
