Description

The state of Baden-Württemberg promotes innovative projects of municipal waste management authorities with funds from the Municipal Investment Promotion Fund (KIF) to advance waste management and waste technology. The focus is on individual projects that test novel technical solutions in waste recovery and treatment and promote their dissemination. Additionally, the program supports investments within the framework of municipal cooperations to create synergies between cities, districts, special-purpose associations, and waste disposal companies with more than 50% municipal ownership. Due to the continuous submission option, applicants can submit ideas at any time and promptly implement their projects.

Eligible for funding are public-law waste disposal authorities, special-purpose associations, as well as municipally controlled waste disposal companies that aim to develop efficient solutions on a supra-regional level. The objective of the funding is to sustainably establish proven innovations and strengthen cooperation between different administrative levels. Both acquisitions and construction investments, as well as technical developments that contribute to increasing energy efficiency, resource conservation, and climate protection, are supported. The financial grant in the form of a subsidy encourages experimental approaches and the linking of regional partnerships. Interested institutions can submit their applications at any time and thus specifically contribute to the modernization and efficiency enhancement of municipal waste management.
