Funding of Public Library Projects

The funding of public library projects in Salzburg is aimed at municipal and public-law library operations as well as their sponsors and library management. The state of Salzburg provides a grant program that allows for year-round application submission. The goal is sustainable profile development and increased visibility of library locations. Events and projects from the fields of education, culture, media, and training & further education are supported, which, in addition to imparting reading and information literacy, develop innovative cultural formats. Collaborations with schools, cultural institutions, and local partner organizations that actively enrich the regionally anchored library offerings are particularly welcome.

For a successful application, a fully completed funding request is required. Additionally, a annual report to the Austrian Library Association must be submitted, and the General Guidelines for the Granting of Subsidies of the State of Salzburg must be observed. Required documents include the project funding application as well as the current annual report. This direct funding can be used to realize training and further education offers, media education workshops, special cultural events, and digital project initiatives.
