Description
As part of an ongoing submission process, the City of Vienna, through the Municipal Department of Finance (MA 5), supports both time-limited individual projects and overall activities that have a direct substantive, institutional, and geographical connection to the federal capital. Projects of significant public interest are funded, which contribute to securing or enhancing the common good, elevating Vienna’s reputation, strengthening social cohesion and democracy, or implementing concrete measures in climate, environmental and nature protection, as well as energy efficiency. The straightforward structure allows for individual funding of single projects or events as well as overall funding to cover the deficit of ongoing operations. Applications have been accepted since May 1, 2020, without time limitation, and provide financial contributions in the form of non-repayable grants.
The measure is aimed at companies, non-profit organizations, public institutions, interest groups, associations, foundations, cooperatives, educational institutions, and private individuals with a direct connection to Vienna, who submit their projects with secured financing and without exclusion criteria. Funding prerequisites include, among others, significant public benefit, non-discrimination, and alignment with the city’s central strategies. Applicants thereby receive an attractive opportunity to implement projects with municipally relevant impact and ecological or social objectives – a worthwhile chance to advance the common good and sustainably strengthen Vienna’s profile.
