Description
The nationwide funding initiative of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) is aimed at companies and public institutions to support innovative research projects in the field of civil security. The goal is to strengthen the resilience of the population at the individual, neighborhood, and regional levels in crisis and disaster situations. Projects that develop new approaches in risk and crisis communication, research population protection educational concepts, and actively involve vulnerable groups in precautionary and self-protection strategies are funded. The focus is on the systematic analysis of data from past events as well as the testing of practical methods to raise awareness and mobilize society in terms of a socially oriented and inclusive action perspective.
Particularly interested are universities, research institutions, associations, municipalities, and companies that present scientific concepts for self-preparedness and self-protection capabilities. The grant supports both regionally focused pilot projects and supra-regional collaborative projects aimed at the sustainable dissemination and anchoring of research results. The two-stage application process is conducted exclusively via the electronic form system “easy-Online.” The submission deadline for outlines and full proposals is March 11, 2026.
