Funding of projects for education for sustainable development or environmental education (Guidelines for Sustainability Education)

The guideline "Promotion of Projects for Education for Sustainable Development or Environmental Education" is aimed at non-profit educational and public institutions in Saxony-Anhalt. The goal is to strengthen a comprehensive awareness of sustainability through training and continuing education measures as well as environmental and nature conservation initiatives. Innovative model trials and pilot projects that align with the state's sustainability strategy and test new approaches to embedding sustainable development are also funded. Under the leadership of the Ministry for Science, Energy, Climate Protection and Environment of Saxony-Anhalt, the measure makes an important contribution to the long-term sensitization of participants and experts regarding climate and resource protection.

Eligible to apply are public law bodies (excluding direct state administration) as well as legally capable, non-profit organizations with headquarters or operations in Saxony-Anhalt. The prerequisite is the implementation of the project within the funding area as well as proof of relevant training of the personnel involved within the last two years. Model and pilot projects must make a recognizable contribution to the innovation and further development of education for sustainable development. Funding is provided as a grant amounting to 85% to 90% of eligible expenses, at least €8,000 and a maximum of €100,000 per application and calendar year. Application documents must generally be submitted by September 30 of the previous year and at least three months before the project start.
