Description
The state of Vorarlberg supports special spatial planning activities of municipalities, regions, and municipal associations based in Vorarlberg on the basis of the General Funding Guideline (AFRL). The goal is a noticeable improvement in quality in municipal and regional spatial planning through grants of up to 60% of eligible expenses (max. €10,000). Small municipalities (under 3,000 inhabitants) receive an increased funding rate of 70% (max. €3,000) for planning and moderation services (e.g., workshops, competition support, design consultations). Eligible applicants are public institutions, interest groups, associations, and non-profit organizations that cooperate intermunicipally or require external expertise for specific issues.
Funding is provided, among other things, for preliminary projects and preliminary assessments, participation concepts, systemic spatial analyses, data collection, pilot and exemplary projects, as well as awareness-raising measures. Eligible costs include fees/expenses of external experts, costs of accompanying studies, event costs (workshops, excursions), and public relations. Non-eligible are office and administrative costs, detailed planning of construction projects, input VAT where deductible, and capital construction costs. Requirements are: location in Vorarlberg, compliance with AFRL, and—where relevant—proof of municipal participation for regions. Support through a planning and funding consultation with the Spatial Planning Department ensures tailored project implementation. Applications can be submitted at any time until funds are exhausted; disbursement occurs after approval and submission of proof of use.
