Support for Student and Pupil Dormitories

Purpose of Funding and Target Group
The ongoing grant funding from the Office of the Carinthian State Government, Department 6 – Education and Sports, is aimed at non-profit operators of student dormitories and residences in Carinthia. The focus is on the maintenance of existing housing facilities in order to sustainably reduce the accommodation fees for pupils and students. Measures in the areas of housing construction & modernization as well as infrastructure & urban development are supported. This initiative creates the framework conditions that not only ensure quality accommodations but also contribute to the long-term relief of the residents.

Application Procedures and Funding Requirements
Applications can be submitted continuously; since January 1, 2014, there is no fixed submission deadline. Only maintenance costs of the residences are eligible for funding. A formal subsidy application and a declaration of dedication are required. The allocation of funds is made at the discretion of the authorities in accordance with the General Guidelines for Funding from State Funds. This funding provides non-profit organizations with financial leeway for regular maintenance, repairs, and modernization of their facilities, thereby making a decisive contribution to the long-term preservation of affordable housing options for pupils and students in Carinthia.
