Description

In Vorarlberg, the state continuously provides grants in the areas of children and youth, education, work & social affairs, as well as initial and further training, to subsidize personnel costs in the leisure component of school day care (full-day school form) and in extracurricular school-age childcare. Public school authorities, private schools with public status, as well as natural and legal persons as private providers, can claim 60% of wage and salary costs including ancillary wage costs, supplemented by reimbursements for preparation times (maximum 20%). This funding offer ensures adequate learning and leisure phases for children and youth outside regular school hours and simultaneously contributes to equal opportunities and better compatibility of family and work.

The basis for approval is a needs analysis according to § 8 KBBG including the involvement of guardians, supplemented by the operating permit pursuant to § 9 KBBG or recognition as a full-day school form according to § 11 School Maintenance Act. Qualified personnel (§ 9 Guideline) as well as group size-compliant care (§ 10 Guideline) are mandatory, as is the submission of the previous year’s income and expenditure statement. Secured financing is ensured through appropriate contributions from municipalities and socially graduated parental contributions. The written funding application must be submitted via an online form, with deadlines on February 29 (September–December), August 31 (January–July), and October 15 (holiday care), to ensure continuous implementation.
