Description

In times of economic challenges, the program promotes the targeted further qualification of employees on short-time work by covering 60 percent of the eligible training costs. The aim of the measure is to enable companies to implement "qualification in crisis" while simultaneously strengthening the sustainable employability of the affected employees. Companies can motivate their teams on short-time work to use downtime hours for labor market-relevant and externally applicable qualifications – ranging from specialized advanced training to certified competency training. In this way, adaptability and innovative strength are promoted, while operational processes are stabilized in the long term.

All companies with an approved short-time work project are eligible for funding, provided their employees participate in at least 16 hours of recognized qualification measures. Excluded are apprentices, marginally employed persons, members of management, family members, civil servants, and pensioners. Applications can be submitted continuously until the allocated funding pool is fully utilized. As a grant, the program enables uncomplicated and timely implementation, allowing companies to respond quickly to new requirements and effectively expand the qualification opportunities for their employees.
