Description
The Bavarian initiative supports non-profit self-help groups that advocate for the inclusion and participation of people with disabilities or chronic illnesses. Eligible organizations are recognized associations according to SGB V or SGB IX with headquarters in Bavaria. As a grant, the program funds projects and activities that facilitate exchange, counseling, and networking among affected individuals and professionals. By financially securing training sessions, public relations work, or barrier-free event formats, it strengthens local engagement and contributes to dismantling barriers and promoting social participation.
Applications can be submitted continuously and require a completed application form, proof of non-profit status, a detailed project description, and a comprehensive financing plan. Funding is provided to self-help groups whose target group exclusively consists of people with disabilities or chronic illnesses. The Bavarian State Ministry for Family, Labor and Social Affairs (StMAS) provides the funds, while the Center Bavaria Family and Social Affairs (ZBFS) as the responsible state authority handles professional support, counseling, and accounting. Interested groups benefit from straightforward and ongoing support, thereby contributing to the strengthening of solidarity networks throughout Bavaria.
