Description
In Styria, there is an ongoing funding program that financially supports non-commercial sports institutions connected to the Austrian Olympic Committee (ÖOC), Paralympic Committee (ÖPC), the Federal Sports Organization (BSO), the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA), or the Austrian Institute for School and Sports Facility Construction (ÖISS). Designed as a grant, it targets interest groups, other associations, public institutions, foundations, and non-profit organizations active in the fields of sports, culture & media. The aim is to strengthen non-commercial sports in the region and to sustainably promote events and projects. Membership in the respective organization and the hosting of sporting events in Styria are central prerequisites for a successful application. Submission is free of charge and permanently possible (valid since 20.11.2017).
For the application, the form “Sports Funding Application” must be submitted; additional documents will be provided if necessary. The following are not funded, among others: construction and renovation measures of sports facilities, land or building acquisition, debt repayment, consulting and legal costs, rent and lease payments, production of publications, operating costs, VIP areas, motorsport events, prize money, as well as equipment and clothing costs (except for elite sports). After funding approval, original receipts and proof of payment must be submitted as part of the usage report. Proper use of funds is documented through regular project and activity reports as well as financial statements. Interested organizations will find in this program a long-term opportunity for the financial security of non-commercial sports projects in Styria.
