Description
As part of the promotion of the relocation of native insect colonies in Carinthia, the city of Villach supports the professional and proper relocation of wasp and hornet nests. Private households as well as small and medium-sized enterprises can receive a flat-rate amount of up to €150 per nest to cover the full costs of relocation carried out by authorized experts. The goal is to ensure the survival or continued existence at a suitable location and to minimize potential conflicts with residents. The funding measure is ongoing and has been open indefinitely since December 14, 2015 – applications can be submitted at any time after the relocation has taken place and are processed immediately upon submission.
Eligible for funding are natural persons residing in Villach as well as companies headquartered in the city. It is relevant for submission that the relocation takes place within the Villach city area and is carried out by an authorized specialist company or person. The digital online application must be accompanied by an original invoice and proof of payment. With a funding rate of 100%, all eligible expenses up to €150 per nest are covered. This program makes a sustainable contribution to environmental and animal protection as well as climate protection by supporting the preservation of native insect populations through careful relocation and targeted promotion.
