Description

The funding initiative "Business Cooperations and Networks" enables micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises as well as Salzburg MidCaps to jointly develop or significantly advance innovative products, processes, or services together with at least two partners from the Salzburg region. The prerequisite is the submission of the application before the project start, no later than December 31, 2025. Up to 50 percent of eligible expenses are funded, including personnel costs (including flat-rate entrepreneur salaries up to €40/hour), external services (e.g., consulting and feasibility studies), qualification measures, marketing expenses (max. 15% of project costs), capital expenditures (equipment, licenses), as well as material-related costs. Grants of up to €30,000 per company and up to €100,000 per project are possible. Projects may run for a maximum of 24 months and must be implemented at the Salzburg location. Membership in the Salzburg Chamber of Commerce and the participation of at least one Salzburg SME are mandatory requirements.

The selection is based on clear criteria: the measure must strengthen innovation and competitiveness, demonstrate entrepreneurial potential in Salzburg, guarantee novelty and sustainability, and ensure close and coherent cooperation among the partners. Bonus rates may be granted for projects with high innovation demands or particularly environmentally beneficial effects. Applications are submitted to the Office of the Salzburg State Government, Department 1: Economy, Tourism, and Municipalities. The application must include, among other documents, the cooperation agreement, cost and financing plan, trade license, and annual financial statement. Funding from this program complements existing federal and EU funding instruments and specifically supports the innovative strength of the Salzburg economy.
