Description

Within the framework of this ongoing funding, the Soonwald Forest Experience Center supports educational programs in the Soonwald-Nahe Nature Park that focus on environmental education and social learning in the forest. Eligible for funding are educational institutions, public bodies, and non-profit organizations based in Rhineland-Palatinate that provide proof of forest pedagogical qualification and present their concept tailored to the target group. School classes, youth groups, families, as well as nature- and environment-interested participants benefit from hands-on workshops and excursions that convey ecosystems holistically and make the importance of sustainability tangible. Applications can be submitted at any time, allowing flexible responses to school and extracurricular needs.

Funding is provided primarily for personnel expenses for educational specialists, material costs for conducting excursions, as well as room and usage fees for the Forest Experience Center. Expenses for advertising and public relations aimed at increasing the participation of diverse target groups in the nature park are also eligible. Investments in construction measures, infrastructure acquisitions, or retroactive costs are not eligible for funding. Selection is based on educational quality, regional relevance, ecological educational content, and participation opportunities for the target groups. This funding creates a valuable platform for conveying ecological knowledge and sustainably strengthens awareness of climate, nature, and species protection in Rhineland-Palatinate.
