Description
The Alfried Krupp Kolleg Greifswald Foundation annually supports interdisciplinary special formats that are linked to the research priorities of the University of Greifswald and address a broad audience. The initiative aims to enable innovative event models – such as fishbowl discussions, citizen science projects, lecture performances, or science slams – that intensify the dialogue between science and society. Carriers of educational or public institutions can apply for grants covering up to 100% of eligible costs, including reasonable honoraria for external speakers, room rental fees, accommodation costs, and catering. Co-financing is welcome to further expand the range of formats and promote the participation of diverse target groups.
Applications must be submitted exclusively via the Foundation’s online form during the submission period from October 1 to December 31, 2026. Requirements include an interdisciplinary topic with a direct connection to the scientific priorities of the University of Greifswald as well as timely submission of the documents. Project outlines will be reviewed based on the criteria of interdisciplinarity, audience engagement, and promotion of dialogue. The funding is primarily aimed at researchers, scientific institutions, and project-responsible groups in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania who wish to test and sustainably establish novel participation formats.
