Description
The Funding for Water Supply in Urban Water Management is aimed at public institutions, cooperatives, companies, interest groups, as well as private individuals, and targets a comprehensive, crisis-proof supply of hygienically safe drinking water in Vorarlberg. With funding rates between 18% and 50%, investments in the construction, expansion, and renovation of public water supply facilities are supported. Funding covers, among other things, planning, the construction of pipeline networks and elevated tanks, measures for local stormwater management, circular wastewater systems, digital pipeline information systems, as well as blackout-secure emergency power generators. By linking infrastructure funding with aspects of climate and water protection, the program also contributes to improving energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Applications can be submitted at any time; projects must be completed within 36 months after approval. Funding requirements include implementation in the public interest, ecological compatibility, socio-economic and business efficiency, compliance with the state of the art, and the presence of official permits. Required documents include, among others, the funding application, a technical data collection sheet, project and site plans, cost and performance accounting, variant analysis, water rights decision, and reinvestment plan. Interior installations, purely non-potable water supplies, ongoing operating and maintenance costs, as well as administrative and financing expenses are not eligible for funding. Upon positive review, disbursement is made in the form of partial payments or an investment grant, whereby a retention amount is withheld until final inspection.
