Funding for Quality and Future Security of Water Cooperatives

The funding program of the State of Upper Austria is aimed at cooperatives committed to the sustainable safeguarding and further development of drinking water and wastewater infrastructures. With a targeted grant for investments in the areas of infrastructure and urban development, measures are supported that enable a long-term improvement in quality and future viability of water cooperatives. Thanks to the continuous submission possibility, the program promotes both planning and construction projects that meet the current and future requirements of a modern water supply. The administration is handled by the Office of the Upper Austrian State Government, Directorate for Environment and Water Management, which serves as the central body providing technical expertise and advice.

Only member cooperatives of the OÖ WASSER Cooperative Association eGen that are active in the field of water supply and disposal are eligible for funding. A prerequisite for application is membership in the OÖ WASSER Cooperative Association eGen as well as a fully completed application form. Due to the unlimited deadline, documents can be submitted at any time; the program has been in place since January 1, 2013, and has no end date. The Directorate for Environment and Water Management guarantees transparent support for all approved projects and, together with highly qualified experts, ensures that the funds are used efficiently. The legal basis is provided by the state parliament resolution on the state strategy "Future Drinking Water" as well as the General Funding Guidelines of the State of Upper Austria.
