Description
The "Grants to Non-Natural Persons" support legal entities throughout Austria such as associations, companies, cooperatives, foundations, public as well as non-profit organizations that operate in close cooperation with a public university. The focus is on university activities such as alumni support or the organization of informational events. The program is funded by the Ministry of Science and has been continuously available since January 1, 2013, until the allocated budget is fully utilized. Projects are funded that fall within the university’s scope of duties and interests and contribute to strengthening research, innovation, as well as education and training.
Awarding is made in the form of a non-repayable grant, with the specific conditions defined by the respective university. Applications can be submitted at any time – until funds are exhausted – directly to the responsible processing office of the public university. The disbursement amounts vary annually and are published quarterly in the transparency database. Through this funding channel, legal entities gain financial planning security for the implementation of sustainable educational and research projects as well as for university public relations measures. The goal is to strengthen the autonomy of universities and to promote innovative university initiatives that provide added value for students, alumni, and scientific interfaces.
