Description
Since its founding in 1986, the Sparkassenstiftung for Ahlen, Drensteinfurt, and Sendenhorst has been supporting non-profit initiatives in North Rhine-Westphalia with an endowment capital of €3.8 million. The focus is on projects in the cities of Ahlen, Drensteinfurt, and Sendenhorst that are engaged in the fields of research & innovation, education & upbringing, arts & culture, international understanding, youth and elderly care, youth and amateur sports, welfare, environmental, landscape and monument protection, public health, as well as regional heritage. The foundation thereby supports measures that make a tangible contribution to strengthening social cohesion and improving regional quality of life. Eligible for funding are exclusively non-profit organizations, public institutions, and educational establishments whose projects correspond to the statutory purposes and are implemented in the aforementioned municipalities.
Grants are awarded as subsidies for project-related material costs and measures within the funding purpose. Ongoing personnel, administrative, or building maintenance costs, travel expenses (except as an integral part of an overall project), as well as commercial or already commenced undertakings are not eligible for funding. Decisive criteria are alignment with the foundation’s purpose, regional significance, and proof of non-profit status. The following documents are required for the application: online application form, detailed project description, cost and financing plan, as well as confirmation of non-profit status. Digital applications must be submitted by October 15, 2026. The foundation guarantees a prompt review by its board of trustees and supports selected projects that distinguish themselves through innovation and societal added value. Interested project sponsors can obtain further information on the application process via the application portal of Sparkasse Münsterland Ost.
