Funding by the Cities and Municipalities Foundation in the Rhein-Sieg District

The Cities and Municipalities Foundation in the Rhein-Sieg district supports innovative projects in the fields of culture, environment, sports, and social affairs to sustainably enhance the quality of life and community spirit in the North Rhine-Westphalia region. The foundation assists non-profit organizations headquartered within the business area of Kreissparkasse Köln (excluding Bad Honnef) that aim to realize diverse ideas in the areas of construction and monument preservation, culture, media, and animal protection. Projects are funded with a grant as the type of support for up to 36 months, provided that overall financing is secured and there is appropriate participation from the project sponsor. Through its broadly based funding, the foundation enables many project sponsors to implement innovative concepts that contribute to strengthening the community and improving the regional living environment.

The initiative is particularly aimed at institutions that share the common values of commitment and sustainability. The focus is on projects in the areas of nature and environmental protection, grassroots sports, social affairs, and culture that provide a positive impetus for coexistence in cities and municipalities. Applications must be submitted online, with funding requests to be received no later than January 15, 2026, provided the project is to be implemented in the second half of the year or later. Through the continuous awarding of grants and a clear focus on selected thematic areas, the foundation offers a reliable opportunity for financial support that promotes both creative and sustainable projects.
