Description
The funding program of the State of Upper Austria for Efficient Energy Use is aimed at natural and legal persons such as commercial enterprises, associations, religious institutions, as well as municipalities in Upper Austria. The goal is to increase energy efficiency and energy savings through technical investments in combined heat and power generation, heat recovery in cooling and ventilation systems, as well as other energy-saving measures in businesses. Applications can be submitted continuously to the Department of Environmental Protection, which, as a central competence center for environmental and water protection, designs practical funding programs and provides monitoring and laboratory services in the environmental sector. Funding is provided as a direct grant and supports both pilot projects and proven technologies equally.
Investments in efficient energy use that are fully implemented and dedicated to the funded purpose for at least ten years are eligible for funding. Funding prerequisites include compliance with environmental regulations and granting inspection and auditing rights to state authorities. Financial support enables increased use of innovative systems for energy generation and recovery, thereby reducing operating costs and CO₂ emissions in the long term. Interested parties benefit from the expertise of the state authority, which provides project support and professional advice up to the final disbursement. Thus, the program makes a sustainable contribution to achieving Upper Austria’s climate policy goals.
