Description
This funding is aimed at associations, institutions, cultural venues, and cultural practitioners in Upper Austria who realize contemporary, interdisciplinary annual programs or project-based events. The focus is on supporting independent, experimental programming with a strong regional connection as well as a special emphasis on youth work and inclusive offerings. Both artistic initiatives that enrich cultural diversity outside metropolitan areas and projects with high thematic added value and unique characteristics are supported. The financial grant serves as a subsidy for the implementation of innovative cultural formats whose content does not primarily fall under other funding areas. Applications can be submitted at any time – there is no content-related urgency or fixed submission deadline.
To apply, among other documents, a fully completed and signed funding form, a detailed program description, and a cost calculation with a coherent financing plan must be enclosed. Annual programs additionally require the legally binding financial statement of the previous year. Prerequisites include compliance with the Upper Austrian cultural mission statement, adherence to the statewide funding guidelines, and verifiable local relevance. Selection is based on evaluation criteria such as programmatic independence, experimental character, professional expertise of those responsible, and inclusive aspects. Since its inception on April 1, 2016, a permanent submission option has existed, which can be used continuously. This funding line thus offers a flexible framework to sustainably strengthen artistic innovation and cultural participation throughout Upper Austria.
