Description
This grant supports innovative projects and educational measures in Upper Austria that make a tangible contribution to the cleanliness and protection of water bodies. Funded initiatives are those that achieve improvements in aquatic ecology and sustainably enhance water quality. Applicants may be natural or legal persons – in particular private individuals, non-profit organizations, interest groups, associations, as well as educational and research institutions. Submissions are accepted on an ongoing basis, allowing for flexible project planning.
For funding approval, the application must be submitted informally to the Department of Surface Water Management prior to the project start. Basic requirements include the suitability of the project to sustainably raise water awareness and approval by the responsible state experts. Furthermore, the guidelines for environmental funding as well as the general funding regulations of the State of Upper Austria must be fully acknowledged. The application must include project reports, cost evidence, and all documents specified in the funding contract. Following positive evaluation by the specialist departments, approval is granted in the form of a direct grant, which is paid out after final verification of the submitted evidence.
