Funding objective
To prepare the population for potential disasters and to ensure the operational readiness of disaster relief services, municipalities, emergency organizations, disaster relief services, and other institutions in civil and disaster protection are supported.

Description
The program Funding in Civil and Disaster Protection has continuously supported public institutions, non-profit organizations, interest groups, and other associations in Styria since October 15, 2013. The goal is to prepare the population for possible disasters and to sustainably ensure the operational readiness of disaster relief services. Funding is primarily provided to municipalities, emergency organizations, disaster relief services, as well as other institutions engaged in the fields of disaster protection and work & social affairs. Eligible expenses particularly include personal protective equipment and specialized equipment for snow cover investigation. Grants of up to 50% of eligible costs are awarded.
Applications can be submitted continuously and without limitation. Essential funding requirements include participation in training seminars for citizen education conducted by the Civil Protection Association, involvement in the Styrian Hail Defense Platform, and a general willingness to actively participate in disaster protection. For avalanche commissions, original invoices and payment confirmations must be submitted. The funding amount is determined based on actual expenses, activities according to § 4 para. 1 nos. 2 and 3 StLaKoG, and the financial capacity of the respective municipality. A complete application submission includes a written funding application, all original receipts, and proof of payment.
