Description

In Styria, the program promotes outpatient day care in technically and structurally suitable centers to provide elderly people in need of care with comprehensive basic care and psychosocial support during the day. The state-owned initiative targets public-law providers in the fields of health, social affairs, as well as labor & social affairs, and supports pilot projects with a daily rate financing, where 60% of the residual costs are covered by the state and 40% by municipalities or social welfare associations. Through these non-repayable grants, the quality of day care is elevated to a professional level and the return to the home environment is sustainably strengthened. Applications can be submitted continuously without a limited deadline.

Eligible for funding are municipalities or social welfare associations that, as applicants, enter into contracts with an operator or a sponsoring organization. Requirements include a properly submitted application, a government session resolution, and quarterly invoicing per day guest. Expenditures for basic care, psychosocial support, and the daily rate financing of residual costs are funded. The funding application, the government session resolution, and the final accounting must be submitted. Since its entry into force on 11.11.2013, interested providers can continuously benefit from the attractive funding rate of 60% and thus expand the care offerings in the home environment of elderly people in need of care.
