Description
The continuously announced sports facility funding program of the State of Burgenland comprehensively supports Burgenland municipalities in the construction, expansion, and renovation of sports facilities on behalf of sports clubs. The goal is the sustainable optimization of regional sports infrastructure as well as the promotion of grassroots and elite sports. As a non-repayable grant, the funding covers up to 80% of eligible investment costs (minimum funding rate 20%). The project duration is a maximum of 24 months, with applications possible before the start of construction or at the latest three months after submission of the first project-related invoice. Through incentives for renewable energy, barrier-free access, and seating stands, the program contributes to the inclusion and environmental compatibility of Burgenland sports venues.
Eligible for funding are, among others, the new construction and extension of sports halls and playing fields, the renewal of floodlighting systems, barrier-free infrastructures, and alternative energy systems. Requirements include compliance with ÖNORM standards, demonstrable financial viability, ownership or leasehold status of the applying municipality, and the binding provision for school use. To submit an application, among other documents, submission plans, cost estimates, building permits, an extract from the club register, bank details, completion certificates, and the completed application form must be provided. The selection of measures is based on needs, sustainability aspects, and strategic importance for sports infrastructure. Interested municipalities have the opportunity, based on these guidelines, to realize attractive, modern, and barrier-free sports facilities in Burgenland.
