Description

The Fund for the Promotion of Private Broadcasting supports Austrian media companies with the aim of strengthening the dual broadcasting system and sustainably expanding program diversity at the local and regional levels. A special focus is placed on content that contributes to the preservation and dissemination of Austrian culture, sharpens European awareness, and enriches the audience through informational and educational offerings. As a continuously open grant opportunity, the program provides established structures to support year-round broadcasting operations and implement innovative formats that guarantee both journalistic quality and cultural diversity. By providing financial resources, an incentive is created before project measures begin, thereby ensuring the high-quality design of audiovisual offerings.

Eligible for funding are private broadcasters with a minimum licensing duration of one year who can demonstrably guarantee a year-round program. A prerequisite for a grant, in addition to a formally and timely submitted application, is the assurance of project financing taking into account all other funding contributions. Insolvency or liquidation proceedings must not be pending, and evidence of regular contributions, tax, and social security payments must be provided. A verifiable incentive effect through application submission prior to project commencement, as well as the completeness of all required documents, form the basis for successful project funding. Applications can be submitted at any time, allowing flexible planning and implementation of new program content at all times.
