Funding objective
Impulse projects lay the foundation for larger research projects. Thus, ideas, feasibility studies, and explorations are further developed to increase the chances of success in higher-level federal and EU programs. Funding is provided for preliminary studies, risk analyses, and solution approaches; exploration and initiation of suitable cooperations; examination of the intellectual property situation; identification of issues for further R&D projects; as well as the determination of the necessary scientific-technical resources and expertise. The projects are aligned with the WISS2030 priorities of the state of Salzburg.

Research Takes Off | Impulse Projects in Salzburg enable companies, non-profit organizations, educational institutions, and start-ups to thoroughly prepare initial research approaches. With a funding rate of 100% and grants of up to €100,000 per project, feasibility studies, risk analyses, and solution approaches are supported. Furthermore, the initiation of suitable collaborations, the examination of intellectual property rights, as well as the identification of necessary scientific-technical resources and expertise are promoted. The project duration ranges from 6 to 18 months, with a minimum budget of €25,000. The thematic focus follows the WISS2030 priorities of the State of Salzburg to anchor ideas and feasibility studies where they can achieve the greatest impact.
Impulse Projects serve to identify questions for advanced R&D initiatives and to increase the chances of success in higher-level federal and EU programs.
