Description
The Bauer Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Research supports ambitious postdoctoral researchers throughout Germany with the program “Research Spirit! Next Generation Sequencing in Ecosystem Research,” who wish to establish their own molecular biology research group within six years after completing their doctorate. The focus is on innovative next-generation sequencing techniques to investigate complex interactions in terrestrial and aquatic ecosystems at the molecular level. With approximately €200,000 per project, the program not only enables the acquisition of modern laboratory equipment but also promotes the establishment of new methodological approaches and interdisciplinary collaborations between universities, research institutions, and (municipal) partners.
As a nationwide, continuously open funding opportunity, the program is aimed at private applicants as well as public institutions hosting postdoctoral researchers with a maximum of six years of research experience after their doctorate. The funding is provided in the form of a grant and is designed to sustainably establish independent research groups and advance the application of molecular biological sequencing methods in ecosystem research. Detailed information on current application deadlines and call documents is available in the download section of the participating foundations. Interested scientists will find all the necessary documents for application submission and further information on eligibility there.
